The Oak Ridge phenotype was first documented near Oak Ridge, Tennessee, approximately 5 miles west of the Y-12 National Security Complex in 1998. This strain is known for producing dense, medium-sized fruiting bodies with caps that measure 3–6 cm in diameter. Caps start as convex with a rich caramel-brown center that fades toward lighter golden edges as they mature. Stems are slender to moderately thick, fibrous, and often display faint striations, standing 8–14 cm tall with a pale to golden coloration.
Oak Ridge exhibits fast colonization on grain spawn and bulk substrates, performing well in a variety of cultivation environments. Fruiting tends to be prolific, with clusters of uniform mushrooms that often cover the substrate in thick flushes. This strain maintains consistent structure and cap-to-stem ratio across multiple harvests.
Our liquid cultures arrive in high-quality 10ml laboratory-grade Luer-Lok syringes. Each order includes a sterile 1-inch, 16-gauge needle for microscopy slide dispensing.
All LC sold is for microscopy, taxonomy, or general collection uses only.

Excellent genetics! Highly recommend this LC and this vendor! Can’t say enough good things about Thick Cultures

In my opinion these took way too long to work out on a plate. Overall I found that under the scope that the strain would be lackluster, but that is not the fault of the vendor. Just the overall strain.
