Nepal Chitwan mushrooms were originally collected near the village of Sauraha in Nepal’s Chitwan region. This variety displays several distinctive characteristics that set it apart from other cubensis strains. The mushrooms produce dense clusters with light tan to golden-brown caps that often grow at unusual angles rather than straight upward. Nepal Chitwan is notable for its unique veil behavior the partial veil turns black before detaching from the cap due to early spore release. This strain occasionally produces sterile mutants that lack spores entirely. The variety is also recognized for its distinctive earthy-nutty scent, different from any cubensis. Despite its tendency to grow sideways and produce occasional mutations, Nepal Chitwan is a reliable phenotype that produces dense clusters and canopies.
Our liquid cultures arrive in high-quality 10ml laboratory-grade Luer-Lok syringes. Each order includes a sterile 1-inch, 16-gauge needle for microscopy slide dispensing.
All LC sold is for microscopy, taxonomy, or general collection uses only.
