The Golden Mammoth phenotype was first developed in Canada in the late 1990s by an anonymous cultivator working under the pseudonym “Mr. G.” Known for its aggressive growth and uniform fruiting, this isolate has since become a favorite among experienced growers.
Caps are golden to deep caramel, measuring 4–7 cm in diameter. They begin convex and mature to broadly convex, sometimes flattening with age. The margin often remains lighter in color. Stems are thick, sturdy, and off-white, ranging from 8–15 cm tall, with dense, fibrous flesh that frequently shows blue bruising when handled. Mature flushes can produce dense canopies, with fruits standing close together and displaying consistent form.
Golden Mammoth colonizes agar and grain spawn quickly, making it ideal for rapid production cycles. It performs well on a variety of bulk substrates and fruits abundantly under standard cubensis conditions. Flushes are prolific, with even pinsets and high yields maintained over multiple harvests.
Our liquid cultures arrive in high-quality 10ml laboratory-grade Luer-Lok syringes. Each order includes a sterile 1-inch, 16-gauge needle for microscopy slide dispensing.
All LC sold is for microscopy, taxonomy, or general collection uses only.
